Treasuries!
I've decided that we will start posting treasuries that we are featured in here on our blog. People usually see the ones we make via Facebook and Twitter, but we don't post the ones that other shops put us in. So this will be where you can find those. :-)
So here's the first one! Thanks to AdorableLittleMe for including us!

Tornadoes
Our thoughts go out to the families and friends of those that lost loved ones in those horrible storms and tornadoes here in the South over the past few days. It was a terrifying thing to watch. We encourage everyone to help in any way they can, whether it's donating money to the Red Cross, donating time to go down there and help clean up, or donating clothing and food to the affected families. In times like these, we need to rally around each other to offer comfort and support. We are grateful that we have been spared any harm and damage, so let's show that by giving to those who haven't been so fortunate.

BEACH
I am spending the week at the beach with some friends, but it's not all fun and games. ;-) I visited a thrift store yesterday and I'll be keeping an eye out for cool pieces along the way. I'm also working on some inspiration for a few new beach items. :-)

Another Year Older
Well, tomorrow is my 25th birthday. :-) I'm spending all next week at the beach! So you'll probably not hear a lot from us in the coming week. My mom will be keeping up with everything on her own. I hope everyone has a fantastic Easter weekend! Be safe.

Hurray For New Friends
A few weeks ago, we bought some amazing cabinet pulls from a fellow Etsy seller. We used these knobs on a custom piece we did for a client. I sent our new friend Shannon (her shop on Etsy can be found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/vyeshi ) a few pictures of the final product... and she featured them on her blog! :-D

Lu's Cabinet
We delivered this cabinet to it's owner yesterday and she... LOVES IT!! :-) We took this old rustic piece and made something sleek and modern with an Asian flair. We love doing custom pieces!

Gorgeous!
We have finished the white nightstands! They have been painted a pure, clean, bright white and the drawers have been decoupaged with this really amazing white and blue, modern, floral fabric. To top it all off, we added the cutest little glass knobs. It is elegant and sophisticated, yet playful and modern. They will be posted on our website soon and we can't wait to see everyone's reactions. :-) Let us know what you think (will post the pics tomorrow).

Moving Right Along
Today in The Velvet Branch workshop, we're working on a pair of nightstands. They need a lot of work, but when we're done, they will be awesome! Right now I'm in the process of sanding and priming. Then they'll be painted and decoupaged with this really great navy blue and white striped fabric. I can't wait to see them finished! :-) You'll be the first ones to see them when they're done, so keep checking on us for progress updates. Plus, you never know what we'll be working on next if you don't keep an eye on us.

Freshly Painted and Ready to Go
These new furniture items were just finished last night. We haven't posted them on our Etsy shop yet, so if you see something you like, just ask us for more info. There is a pair of vintage 1980's barstools that we have hand painted green (custom mixed color: First Spring) and stamped with a paisley pattern on the seats. The other item is a vintage piano bench that we have brought into the 21st century by giving it a modern red paint scheme (custom mixed color: Music to my Eyes) with some badass black stripes.
Cutest Lamp Ever?... I think so.
We found the most adorable little vintage lamp the other day and we were taking some pics of it last night to put on our website. However, my dad is in love with it! He kept talking about how we should list it for $300! But then I figured out his game. If we list if for that much, no one will buy it... so he'll get to keep it! :-D The Velvet Branch: 1, Dad: 0. By the way, this lamp hasn't been posted to our shop yet, so those of you reading this right now, have the first crack at it. Be quick, get it before my dad does.

New Finds!
Three wonderful vintage typewriter stands! One has a wooden top and another has terrific, beefy wheel guards. So industrial and practical, too. The uses are endless as are the possibilities to embellish.
Winter Wonderland, really?
We are working hard in the shop and having fun, too. We even got a bit of spray painting done by keeping the paint in the warm house then just dashing out into the cold to quickly spray for a few minutes before returning inside with the paint. Yeah, we would love for it to be warmer. They are calling for snow the next few days though so.... sigh.
